2025 Brings Director of Nursing Retirement and Employee Transitions

The following letter is from Executive Director Mark Yantek. It highlights some recent team member news at Regina Health Center, including the upcoming retirement of Director of Nursing Marlene “Marti” Shivak, RN.

Greetings friends,

As we usher in this New Year, there are several transitions to share with you. First is the bitter-sweet notice of the January 31st retirement of our Director of Nursing Marlene “Marti” Shivak, RN. While we are thrilled for Marti as she enters the next wonderful phase of her life, we are sad to see her go. Her retirement is certainly hard-earned and well-deserved, but we have become accustomed to her presence among us these past five years. We wish her all the best for rest & relaxation, and for much fun & excitement, too. Congratulations Marti!

Another transition to note is the promotion within the Sisters of Charity Health System of our Director of Fund Development Colleen Corrigan Day. Colleen will be assuming the role of Senior Director of Major Gifts for Joseph & Mary’s Home and the E. 22nd St. Ministries, including Rosary Hall. Colleen will remain part-time in her former role until a new Director of Fund Development is named. We wish Colleen all the best in her new role and we thank her for five wonderful and successful years of ensuring Regina Health Center’s stability. Slainte, Colleen!

This month, we also welcome two new members of the Maintenance staff. Sean Martin is a General Maintenance Technician and Alan Dylag will serve as Chief Engineer. Sean and Alan join current staff members Joel Gibbon and Brian Corrigan to complete the Brewer-Garrett team here at Regina Health Center. Welcome Sean and Alan!

So far, 2025 is starting out to be an exciting year of transition and growth. Let’s hope for much more of the same in the year ahead!

Deacon Mark Yantek,
Executive Director
